Uddhav Thackeray Questions NDA’s Huge Victory

Leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), raised doubts about the NDA’s overwhelming victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Despite thanking the people of Maharashtra for their support, he questioned what the Mahayuti alliance had done to deserve such a massive mandate.

State Issues and Doubts Over the Victory

Thackeray pointed to ongoing problems like farmer distress and unemployment. He wondered whether these concerns were addressed adequately by the NDA, Uddhav Thackeray Questions NDA’s Victory questioning the scale of their victory. “The results show a tsunami, not just a wave, but I don’t understand what they did to earn this,” he said. At that point, the NDA was leading in over 230 seats, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) had only about 60 seats.

Comparison with Lok Sabha Results

Reflecting on the Lok Sabha elections, Thackeray noted that the MVA had dealt a strong blow to the BJP, raising the question of how things had changed so quickly in just a few months.

Promises and Future Plans

Thackeray congratulated the NDA but hoped their campaign promises, like the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ would be fulfilled. He also wished for the resolution of farmers’ debts and the implementation of other promises.

Disappointment Over MVA’s Performance

Thackeray expressed disappointment over MVA’s poor showing, especially given Maharashtra’s past support during the COVID-19 crisis. “I can’t believe Maharashtra would act this way,” he said.

Shiv Sena Symbol Dispute and Future CM

Thackeray also mentioned the unresolved dispute over the Shiv Sena symbol and name, questioning the legitimacy of the election process. Regarding the Chief Minister position, he stated it was likely that a BJP leader, due to their strong performance, would take the role.
