The eagerly awaited film, ‘Maidaan,’ unveiled its trailer on March 7, showcasing the story of an unsung hero, Syed Abdul Rahim, who brought glory to India through football. The narrative unfolds the remarkable journey of Ajay Devgn’s character, the coach, who made history and achieved unprecedented success in football, still unmatched after 60 years in the world’s most popular sport.

Released on March 7, the ‘Maidaan’ trailer provides a glimpse into Syed Abdul Rahim’s incredible journey. Ajay Devgn’s narration in the opening scenes highlights India’s football potential despite not being the largest or wealthiest. The character strategically assembles a diverse team, including players from Indian slums. Despite skepticism and challenges, the coach perseveres in his mission to build a world-class team. The trailer suggests high stakes, with Ajay’s character pledging to quit coaching if he fails at the Asian Games.

Similar to Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De India’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold,’ ‘Maidaan’ shifts the focus from athletes to the resilience of the coach, portraying their journey towards a historic triumph. Towards the end of the trailer, Ajay Devgn’s character delivers a motivational speech reminiscent of SRK’s famous ’70 minutes’ dialogue in ‘Chak De India.’

Produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla, with screenplay and dialogues by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, respectively. The music is composed by AR Rahman, with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla.
