Epic ‘HanuMan’ Phenomenon Sweeps Theatres: ‘Jai Shri Ram’ Chants Amplify, Extra Shows and Screens Incoming!

The ‘HanuMan’ phenomenon sweeps through theaters, resonating with echoes of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in cinema halls; additional shows and screens to be incorporated.

Prashanth Varma’s film ‘HanuMan’ has emerged as a blockbuster. Centered around the divine persona of Lord Hanuman, the greatest devotee of Lord Ram, the movie unveils India’s cinematic universe by portraying Hanuman’s qualities as the superpowers of the superhero – HanuMan.

Online users are applauding the film for its exceptional VFX quality, surpassing expectations given its modest budget of Rs 30 crores, which reportedly covers printing and advertising costs. Film Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel suggests that the actual production cost of the movie was around Rs 12 crores.

Significantly, the producers had declared that Rs 5 from every ticket sold would be contributed as a donation to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Videos circulating on social media capture fans joyously celebrating with loud chants inside theaters, visibly energized by the superhero portrayal of Lord Hanuman. Another video showcases a theater resonating with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Ram Lakshman Janki, Jai Bolo Hanuman Ki.’ Some online users suggest that more theaters have included the movie in their screening schedules. One notable feature of the film is its conclusion with the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa.

Starring Teja Sajja as HanuMan, the movie was released alongside the high-budget Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Guntur Kaaram.’ Despite the competition, the strategic release of HanuMan preceding the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha has resulted in a much larger opening than anticipated.

Film news website Koimoi has dubbed the movie as ‘an answer to Hollywood and Marvel’s Superhero Fatigue.’ Initial reports indicate that the film has garnered Rs 4.5 crores worldwide in advance bookings as of January 11.

As of January 11, all-India advance bookings reached Rs 2.5 crores, including paid previews. In Hyderabad alone, the movie has earned Rs 1 crore and Rs 90 lakhs in paid premieres.

Another movie review platform, Daily Culture on X, highlighted that the HanuMan movie poster cutout, reportedly found fallen on the road two days ago, has been restored and is now displayed at the same theatre in Warangal, Telangana.

Harshath RVS, the distribution head of Sakthi Film Fctry, has announced the addition of extra shows in Telugu and additional screens in Tamil Nadu. He also praised the movie as a blockbuster.
