“Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a video conference with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) today. The nationwide Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra aims to achieve the full implementation of government flagship schemes, ensuring timely benefits for all targeted beneficiaries.
During the interaction with Alpeshbhai Chandubhai Nizama, a VBSY beneficiary from Bharuch, Gujarat—an ITI-certified farmer and diploma holder in hardware engineering—the Prime Minister inquired about his decision to transition into agriculture. Alpeshbhai explained that he left his job to become a farmer on his family’s 40-acre ancestral land. He shared how he availed state and central government benefits, including subsidized farming equipment and a Rs 3 lakh subsidy for drip irrigation. Impressed, the Prime Minister acknowledged the positive change in the younger generation’s approach to agriculture.
Expressing satisfaction with the subsidies received by Alpeshbhai, the Prime Minister encouraged him to guide fellow farmers on modern farming techniques and equipment. Alpeshbhai highlighted his involvement in ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) projects since 2008, gaining knowledge about farming techniques from various regions. He proudly mentioned receiving a ‘Best Farmer Award’ from ATMA in the Prime Minister’s presence in Bharuch.
The Prime Minister noticed Alpeshbhai’s daughter in the background, interacted with her, and asked her to lead the chant of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai,’ evoking a spirited response from the audience.
In his closing remarks, the Prime Minister praised individuals like Alpeshbhai, considering them inspirations for the youth entering agriculture. He assured farmers of a conducive environment from the fields to the market, emphasizing the significance of educated youth contributing to this resolution. The Prime Minister also encouraged the adoption of modernized techniques, innovation, and new thinking in farming. Additionally, he suggested exploring the use of drones in agriculture and urged farmers to prepare for a grand welcome of the ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ vehicle in the next five villages.”
